Provision of
diagnostic DNA testing for
selected disorders that are
common to the region, concentrating on the disorders of the
children enrolled in the Shafallah Center for Children with
Special Needs and its affiliated institution, while maintaining
rigorous standard operating protocols.

Development and
establishment of new tests.

Preparation of
samples for shipment to laboratories abroad for carrying out
tests not performed at SMGC and the reception,
interpretation and timely delivery of results to ordering
and referring physicians.
Core Laboratory
The molecular core laboratory will provide high throughput genetic analysis for the diagnostic service, as well as research projects within the center and in collaboration with national institutions
by using different
resources and equipments.
The core lab. services include:

harvesting, storage, and archiving.

Absolute quantification of nucleic acids.

Relative quantification of nucleic acids.

Sequencing
and resequencing.

Microsatellite-based fragment analysis.

SNP
(Single Nucleotide Polymorphism) genotyping .

Genome-wide
testing for unbalanced chromosomal aberrations.
